Day 72: "No complaining on the yacht!"

"No complaining on the yacht."

Since we first heard this reference in Al Franken's book, Giant of the Senate , it has become a sort of mantra for us. We see it as sort of an acknowledgement of how good we have it, how lucky we are, and no matter how seemingly bad a day may be - we're still on the yacht!

With that in mind, I think I would be remiss not to withdraw some of my statements from our earlier blog post. We have it really, really, really good out here.

What a difference 10 days can make!!

In the last 10 days, we've fallen in love with Jasper National Park, with the Canadian Rockies, with Western Canada, with Fernie, British Columbia, with fall in the west, with our mountain bikes (again and again and again), with hiking, with backpacking, with the littlest things. In the last 10 days, we celebrated my birthday, we went to 2 different hot springs, we saw some of the most beautiful views, the most beautiful drives - we had rain, snow, sun, and everything in between - and we've loved every moment of it.

Day 63: Maligne Lake, Jasper National Park

Days 64 and 65: 2 nights on The Skyline Trail, Jasper National Park

Days 66 and 67: Snow in the mountains, bikes, friends, and exploring Jasper

Days 68 and 69: Backcountry overnight in the Tonquin Valley, Jasper National Park

Day 69: Driving the Icefields Parkway, Jasper National Park to Banff National Park

*these photos DO NOT do it justice - video to come, but you should probably just drive it yourself and see what we're raving about*

Day 70: Hannah's 25th Birthday! Breakfast, mountains, burritos

Day 71 and 72: Fernie, BC

May the smiles stay permanent, the roads winding, and the days full.
